Gunn Speech encompasses a variety of events that cater to all sorts of interests. In interp, students cut, block, and perform one or two-person pieces, playing from one to a multitude of characters, in comedy or drama. In platform, students write their own speeches with 3-step arguments on a topic of their choosing. In limited prep, students are given a new topic with only a half hour to craft a 7 minute speech every round, the most similar to debate among the three branches. All in all, speech is a great way to improve public speaking skills and persuasiveness.
Gunn Speech includes the following events: Interp, Platform, and Limited Prep; the most recognizable events are HI, DI, Duo, Oratory, and Extemp.
