Policy Debate revolves around a year-long resolution that encompasses a wide diversity of arguments. Under the resolution, or topic, each team presents its own plan to address a current problem in the United States; for 2022-2023, students will discuss US cooperation with NATO in AI, Biotech, or Cybersecurity. Before tournaments, debaters collaborate to prepare extensive affirmative and negative evidence. Policy teaches skill such as nuanced argumentation, strong public speaking abilities, efficient research practices, and a depth of knowledge about the annual resolution.
